About Process Painting
In The Painting Portal sessions we paint for the experience itself rather than the outcome—inviting an aspect of ourselves that is often ignored: our wild, innate creative expression. When we welcome this elemental self into our awareness, perfectionism can fall away. Our creativity can bloom and insights may even come through.
Gathering in small facilitated weekly Zoom groups (or 1:1 private session if you prefer) we delve into the delights of Tempera colors—just like when we were kids! In The Painting Portal, we only have to show up, be curious, and paint! Being present is one of the gifts of Process Painting.
In these sessions, we witness each other’s paintings without offering opinions, accolades, criticism, or comments of any sort. Once we trust that safe zone, we dare to experiment! Gathering courage and maybe even using colors we might ordinarily avoid, we take a chance that something might be silly or seemingly meaningless. We often surprise ourselves by living dangerously—through the brush!
